RAVENOVA is a 24/7 online rave radio station based in Ontario, Canada. It streams techno, hard techno, house, drum & bass, trance and hardcore, mixing live sets from resident and guest DJs with a rolling programme the rest of the time.

Yes. Listening is free and there are no adverts. You do not need an account to press play — an account is only needed to chat, earn points and enter raffles, and that is free too.

Techno, hard techno, house, drum & bass, trance and hardcore, plus related electronic styles depending on which DJ is on air.

No. Anyone can listen without signing up. You need a free account only to talk in the live chat, collect RAVENOVA points while you listen, and enter raffles.

Everyone in the chat is hearing the same track at the same moment, which is the part a streaming service cannot copy. Create a free account, press play and talk to the room. The chat is moderated by the station crew.

Points are earned by listening, chatting and checking in each day. Listening time is measured by the server rather than the browser, so points cannot be farmed by leaving a tab open or reloading. Points rank you on the leaderboard and can be spent on raffle entries.

A shout is a message read on air and carried across the station banner. It costs $1.80 CAD, paid through Stripe. Every shout is checked by a moderator before it appears; anything abusive or aimed at a private individual is refused.

Apply through the DJ application form on the site. You will be asked what you play, whether you can hold a weekly slot, and what software you use. If it fits the station you are given the DJ role, your own page, a slot on the schedule and your stream login, plus a setup guide for Windows and Mac.

VirtualDJ and Mixxx can broadcast to the station on their own, with no extra software. Serato, rekordbox and Traktor cannot, so their audio is captured and passed to a free encoder called BUTT, using either a cable loop or a virtual audio driver.

Yes. The site works in any mobile browser, and you can add RAVENOVA to your home screen so it opens full screen like an app, with play controls on your lock screen. You can also switch on alerts so your phone tells you when a DJ goes live.

Yes. The stream URL is published on the radio page and works in VLC, foobar2000, a car stereo or anything else that plays an internet radio stream.

RAVENOVA is run from Ontario, Canada, and broadcasts worldwide. The schedule is shown in Eastern Time.
